This course introduces experienced programmers to the Java programming language. The course is designed to leverage the students’ existing programming skills and to transfer those skills to the Java programming framework as compared to other common programming languages. Topics include fundamental data types, flow control, and standard function libraries, the design of classes and objects, inheritance, and polymorphism. The course emphasizes object-oriented programming and modular design as well as GUI implementation.
