This course is designed to give students a basic foundation in the use of optoelectronic devices and their numerous applications. Students will develop an understanding of how these devices can be used to replace mechanical and electrical switches in various kinds of equipment. Students will understand how communications can take place by means of light, and how fiber optic cable can replace metallic cables. Green component includes a solar panel project.
