HCA302 - The Legal Aspects and Compliance of Healthcare

Credit Hours: 4

Course Description

This class is intended to be an introduction to the healthcare legal system in the United States. The legal system in this country is a privilege and so it is the intent to present how we can defend our rights as citizens yet preserve the sanctity of the legal system by abiding by the rules and regulations as required. These include Stark II, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), compliance issues, fraud and abuse, and anti-kickback issues.
