Focuses on the behavior of the organization as a function of individual and interpersonal behavior and group processes within organizations with emphasis on motivation and leadership. The student participates in group processes to develop personal awareness of opportunities and problems of group behavior and decision-making and their implications for management.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
Define organizational behavior (OB) as it applies to individual, group, organizational, and key stakeholders
Summarize the important historical developments within motivational theory and organizational behavior, including the theories and historical context that guide both learning and motivation within an organization
Describe OB foundations of individual, team, and organizational behavior in relationship to performance, job satisfaction, and employee attrition, including how personality, attitude, and emotion contribute to OB
Describe high-involvement management and the role it plays within the organization to create positive human capital, including the concepts of both efficiency and effectiveness in these processes
Analyze communication and the communication process as it applies to both management and decision making in the OB realm
Analyze power, negotiation, conflict, and conflict management as they apply to OB
Examine the factors related to creating, sustaining, and changing organizational culture and commitment in a competitive environment, including analyzing global competition and factors
Apply OB concepts to organizational strategy, design, and structure, including how change affects each function
Illustrate the necessity of ethical behavior within the organization and among its stakeholders
Examine both the historical and the contemporary aspects of leadership, including theories, applications, and types of leaders
