NUR220 - Concepts of Basic Nursing Practice

Credit Hours: 6

Course Description

This course will assist the PN to transition into the role of the RN. Learners will be introduced to critical thinking skills and the responsibilities expected of the RN that they will continue to build on throughout the nursing program. The areas of study will include: building on the nursing process, teaching and learning processes, knowledge and skill acquisition, ethical and legal considerations in patient care, diversity in healthcare, communication techniques, managing patient care, stress management, health promotion and disease prevention, documentation, health assessment, and an introduction to evidence based practice.
