This course focuses on cultural aspects and therapeutic communication related to mental health issues. Mental health concepts, behavioral interventions, crisis interventions, coping interventions substance abuse, techniques of physical/psychosocial assessment, health screening, psychopharmacology, complementary/psychosocial therapies will be addressed. Special emphasis will be placed on therapeutic communication techniques in all healthcare settings.
